Theatrical book club
Are you aged 21-39 and yearn for a community of literary nerds with whom you can discuss plays, musicals and TV and film scripts with? Well look no further than The Lincoln Center Entourage’s own Theatrical Book Club! We will be reading everything from classic Greek tragedies to the scripts of Twilight Zone episodes.
We are planning on meeting every other month at The Lincoln Center or at local coffee shops and restaurants around Fort Collins. We will even occasionally have different guest facilitators working in the theatrical/entertainment field, to give insights on the literary pieces we will be discussing.
Our first selection and meeting
For our first meeting we will be reading and discussing Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. This piece retells the myth of Orpheus from the perspective of Eurydice, his wife. The story focuses on Eurydice’s choice to either return to Earth with Orpheus or, to stay in the underworld with her father. This read will prep you for the debut of Hadestown at The LC the following weekend.
When: Wednesday, October 23 at 6:30pm.
Where: Avogadro’s Number. 605 S Mason St, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
What are we reading: Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.
If you are interested in joining our book club and attending one or both of these events, please join our group on bookclubs.com and then RSVP for the events you would like to attend!
